Tales from the Dales.
Adam Collier entertained a full house when he gave a talk about the Yorkshire Dialects. He explained the differences between the dialects of the three Ridings and that every few miles, as little as ten, there can be subtle changes. He went on to tell stories and anecdotes, many of which had his audience in stitches. A Buffet Supper followed this great evening of entertainment. £227 was raised for Church funds.
The Shoebox appeal was again well supported with 80 shoeboxes being blessed at the service on Sunday 19 November. These were then taken to the Scarborough depot for checking and sorting, before onward transmission to needy children in other countries.
